As part of the Agricultural Science Academy Program, I job shadowed Creative Child Care in Manteca where I met a child who suffered from prenatal defects because of her parent's addiction. Not only did the child become addicted to the substance when she was born, but she also became a foster child very young because of her parent's addiction. This child and I gained a sweet relationship in the little time we were together and I believe it was fate. This child changed my life and inspired me to want to help other children like her. She is why I chose to raise money for an organization named the National Association for Children of Addiction as part of my Agricultural Science Senior Project. What I love about this most, is that she was is so young, we only met once, and she has no clue that she changed my perspective of life and has helped the lives in NACOA. I raised money for the National Association for Children of Alcoholism in the United Kingdom further providing children in need with a free helpline and enough money to train a new NACOA helpline provider.

My extra-curricular activities have impacted my life tremendously. Through my growth in the Polynesian club here at Tracy High from a member, to the Treasurer, and ultimately becoming the club President; I have gained many leadership skills. Alongside Tracy High Cheer, I believe that I have become a lot more outgoing as well as brightly spirited which is what led me to Tracy High's Leadership. I believe Leadership, Cheer, and Poly have all equally helped me with my communication skills, time management, and most definitely my public speaking skills. Prior to these extra-curricular activities I was very shy and nervous all the time, especially when presenting work in my Ag/Sci Classes. However, with the guidance of my extra-curricular activities I have learned how to properly present my work and ideas professionally and maturely to the point where most people would never know I had trouble presenting in the first place which makes me very proud. I am very proud of my accomplishments within leadership by participating in student panels to give feedback to Tracy High's Staff and helping out my class and school overall. I do owe my success to my extra-curriculars and the Tracy High Ag/Sci Academy.
